1-29-05 front
| Latest updates from Boucherville. Picked up a business sign yesterday- and it was much much much more faded than I was expecting- so I put up the sign temporarily until a better one can be made. This photo makes it even worse than it really is- you actually can read the sign when you're there but really doesn't show well in photographs with bright light. Perhaps next week I'll have a better sign. Met the whole family there today- I think the kids are loving running around their future house. | 1-29-05 front Originally uploaded by architect. |

| Mark invited us over for dinner on Friday, which coincided with the Linger's birthday. We brought the playpen and let LL sleep a little so that we could hang out a little later into the night. | 1-21-05 birthday dinner Originally uploaded by architect. |
young webster renovation
The renovations to this cottage have begun. The new concrete floor with radiant floor heating has been poured and cured. Currently the plumbing and electrical runs are being relocated and cleaned up while the "final" plans are approved.

schematic
| Our friends Christina and John have been painstakingly building their own house (literally) in North Vancouver. After basically bringing the existing house down to its foundations, getting married in its rough frame and salvaging pieces from places all around town, they've now almost completed a beautiful, modern craftsman-style house. Now they're looking to retrofit their staircase- here's a schematic image under progress. | schematic Originally uploaded by architect. |

Fujino Lapointe update
The Fujino/Lapointe house is under construction in Boucherville- after some cost-cutting measures. I will be going out to get some pictures of the foundation work this weekend. Unfortunately- our car is still undriveable, as the signal and brake lights have stopped working (until our body shop appointment next week!) I will post some pictures soon. (see July archives)
wood stove
A friend from University, who does his own renovations, is going to be taking our wood stove off of our hands. Thank you for your interest.

New Year
Happy New Year everyone-
We got back home last night- after a long crowded plane ride. Thankfully it was +3C when we got back and we've had the windows open all day enjoying the fresh air breeze through our place.
Today we wandered around looking for something to eat as the cupboards are bare.
Luckily Ann's mom loaded us up with turkey. Looking forward to seeing everyone and swapping holiday stories- especially everyone overseas. Yi Lu Ping An.

My rant for the day
If I haven't said it before, let me make this perfectly clear-
Home (*&^% Depot sucks. Let me be more specific. Home Depot is good if all you need to do is go in and buy a light bulb or a garbage pail. BUT if you need any assistance at all or want to order an item, say for example a countertop, you might as well save yourself 3 or 4 hours of waiting around time and just stab yourself repeatedly with a blunt spoon. It would be more humane and certainly more productive. In case I lose my mind and decide I need to go to Home Depot again, please remind me it's better to fight the traffic and go to Reno Depot instead.
