4.3.05 from kitchen
| Finally had a chance to get back out to Boucherville for some recent photos of the house. Had a babysitter take care of LL for the afternoon, so Ann and I took a peek then enjoyed a few of our traditional IKEA hotdogs afterwards. | 4.3.05 from kitchen Originally uploaded by architect. |

Long time no post
Hello everyone:
No I haven't given up on the blog just yet. I've just been too busy the last few weeks to take or post any photos. Working towards a deadline for the end of the month so I'm hoping to get to the house to take some recent photos. Maureen et al were here for a day visit on Good Friday and Ann's parents are coming next week sometime. Check back in a few days!

progress plan
| Ok- back onto our own renovations. This is where I last left off and is the plan currently being studied (February 23/05). Our budget is going to be extremely limited so I think we'll have to draw up two plans. A) A plan where we just patch up drywall and mouldings or B) where we start moving some partitions around. We may decide to divert more of our renovation funds to updating our kitchen. | progress plan Originally uploaded by architect. |
progress living room
| Ignore the colours for now (it's just easier to build a model with colours that are easier to see on screen). The proposed change is to square off LL's room to make it more usable and to let more light into the main living area. The closets have been relocated above the existing stairway to make more use of that wasted (unused) space. | progress living room Originally uploaded by architect. |
progress bedroom
| The proposed change to this room is moving the existing entry doors and combining the existing back to back closets into a single walk-in closet. | progress bedroom Originally uploaded by architect. |

1-29-05 front
| Latest updates from Boucherville. Picked up a business sign yesterday- and it was much much much more faded than I was expecting- so I put up the sign temporarily until a better one can be made. This photo makes it even worse than it really is- you actually can read the sign when you're there but really doesn't show well in photographs with bright light. Perhaps next week I'll have a better sign. Met the whole family there today- I think the kids are loving running around their future house. | 1-29-05 front Originally uploaded by architect. |

young webster renovation
The renovations to this cottage have begun. The new concrete floor with radiant floor heating has been poured and cured. Currently the plumbing and electrical runs are being relocated and cleaned up while the "final" plans are approved.

schematic
| Our friends Christina and John have been painstakingly building their own house (literally) in North Vancouver. After basically bringing the existing house down to its foundations, getting married in its rough frame and salvaging pieces from places all around town, they've now almost completed a beautiful, modern craftsman-style house. Now they're looking to retrofit their staircase- here's a schematic image under progress. | schematic Originally uploaded by architect. |

Fujino Lapointe update
The Fujino/Lapointe house is under construction in Boucherville- after some cost-cutting measures. I will be going out to get some pictures of the foundation work this weekend. Unfortunately- our car is still undriveable, as the signal and brake lights have stopped working (until our body shop appointment next week!) I will post some pictures soon. (see July archives)
wood stove
A friend from University, who does his own renovations, is going to be taking our wood stove off of our hands. Thank you for your interest.

New Year
Happy New Year everyone-
We got back home last night- after a long crowded plane ride. Thankfully it was +3C when we got back and we've had the windows open all day enjoying the fresh air breeze through our place.
Today we wandered around looking for something to eat as the cupboards are bare.
Luckily Ann's mom loaded us up with turkey. Looking forward to seeing everyone and swapping holiday stories- especially everyone overseas. Yi Lu Ping An.
