I wanted to post these earlier - we live in car honking central. Parc Avenue is generally filled with Greek restaurants (when they won the Euro Cup the street was mayhem), then there is St. Urbain (generally Portugese and failing that, Brazilian), two blocks over is St. Laurent (where the Italians parade up to LIttle Italy a few blocks to our north), and then a few blocks over is St. Denis where the French patriots congregate. Now that the WC is over everytime LL sees a flag he says "beep beep."

KK

Ok I appear to have used up my quota of space on flickr so i'll have to wait a week to post more photos. Here are a couple of videos instead from today. It was a long weekend here in Quebec, yesterday being St. Jean Baptiste day so there was plenty of stuff going on around town. This morning we went strawberry picking with the gang and then we stopped off at Outremont park for a lil' picnic.

I dunno if you'll be able to see the people in the background that clearly once this gets formatted for the web but I'll post it anyways.

Garderie concert # 2

Today was the second of the year end concerts- the kids put on a cirque.
One of these days I'll have to get a real video camera- because these vids are pretty grainy when you view it at a decent size.
Anyways, apparently LL won't just roll over for anyone.

Frogger

Thursday Ann started a string of days off- so she decided to keep LL home from daycare and spend some good old bonding time with him. As she was preparing to take him to the park she followed standard Plateau procedure and first brought down the stroller and then came up the stairs to collect LL. As she was coming up, I noticed through the window that the stroller was rolling down the sidewalk and out of sight. I mentioned something like "um,...the stroller is leaving without you" so she turned and bounded (bound?) down the stairs after the stroller. Meanwhile, the stroller tooka sharp left turn and was heading across three lanes of St. Urbain traffic (we live on one of the major thoroughfares into downtown), complete with cars veering and honking and all. Anyways good thing LL wasn't in the stroller. Tip of the day: Lock your stroller wheels, St. Urbain is sloped.

I want your hands on me

So Friday I noticed that the skin on my hands and arms was tingling- so I thought it was from sitting at the computer with my arm chafing against the table. (It being t-shirt weather now). So I made the necessary adjustments to my work area and figured that was that.

Saturday we went to a colleague of Ann's for an afternoon party- when I got there we realized that they had cats, so I thought- 'ok I'll see how long I last here'. Everything seemed fine, then later that night at home I felt like I was having a slow heart attack. That, I decided, was the last straw in my game of chicken with cats. In the meantime, LL seemed to have bit his tongue and wasn't feeling too hot either. Then came the spots.

Anyways, it's now Wednesday and it has become apparent that LL has contracted hand, foot mouth disease from another kid at garderie and as luck would have it, so have I. It will be nice when this chest tightening is over with and my abdomen doesn't feel like someone is wringing it out. Anyways, apologies to the cats (THIS time......* but i'm watching you CAT *).

Update on firm name

Well after much soul-searching and creative thinking we have settled on a name for our soon-to-be firm.....(drumroll please):
Stewart + Tsai Architects Inc. Whoa. Yes. It's a doozie. A few of the other names that were in the running were: S tewart T sai D esign, S tewart T sai U rban D esign and, my favourite, T sai S tewart A rchitects I nc. Pending approval from the Provincial Association we hope to be up and running soon.
