OK- so the new internet connection is working perfectly, except I've already exceeded my upload/download limits so I think I'll have to upgrade from basic service to high speed. Last weekend Ann had a baroque gig in the Eastern townships so LL and I tagged along for a free night's stay at the Auberge West Brome. It snowed HEAVILY that weekend, so we rented a car (Yaris) and had a nice quiet time in Brome. Sat night while Ann had her concert LL and I looked for a place to eat and then wound up back at the Auberge for dinner. It was a fine dining experience with most of the other tables being couples on weekend getaways. LL and I (and his trains) sat at a nice table for two and we shared the table d'hote. He didn't care for the foie gras tartine but the sweet potato/turnip soup and the white fish were well received. To top off the fine menu we shared the sorbet/ice cream dessert and then headed back to the room in time for bedtime.
This week I finally had a doctor's appointment (after a few months' wait). Elections were today so we'll soon find out who heads our minority government.
