Our friends Johanne and J sent us this photo from their chance encounter with LL's daycare at the park this morning. Thanks for the great photo Johanne- I love their expressions!

Oka
On the weekend Ann organized a camping trip just outside of Montreal (Oka). It was faaaantastic. Nice beach (packed with people) with soft sand (gently sloping), a quiet camping spot a short walk to the beach, and no mosquitoes! (The no mosquito thing sealed the deal for me.) We left a couple of items in our kitchen (coleman stove and bread) but managed to find an Amway matchbook in our car (perhaps left from the car's original owners- Care to confirm that SAHM?). On our way home- stopped to pick up some local corn, raspberries, strawberries, pie and good ol' Tim's. Decided to pass on the cheese on this trip. Anyways, looking forward to another trip there soon!
ps. If you go to Oka, be warned that strangers that you strike up conversations with will inevitably leave their 2-year olds with you to watch over. This seemed to happen each time we went down to the beach. The first time, the dad was at least somewhere on the beach. The second time a mom decided to go back to her campsite. Of course after a few minutes her little boy began to wonder where his family was so I ended up carrying him off the beach, across the parking lot and to the campsites.

good
Last week we went back to the farm in St. Eustache to pick raspberries (3 baskets) which only lasted us 2 days before they were all gone. This weekend we cheated and went to Jean Talon market and bought some more. We had lots of fun at JT Market eating our way from stall to stall.
baaaaaaaaaaad
Believe it or not, it was Ann who picked this winner out..... It ranks up there with the "Beef and gravy" chips I once bought from the vending machine while working at Gustavson Wylie.

canada day
Happy belated Canada Day...it's like the high holidays in Quebec at this time of year with SJB, Canada Day and construction holidays occuring within weeks of each other.
55
Last week we welcomed Holden Jasmine and Kai back to Montreal, while Jas attended a conference downtown. We had a great week with them , and LL had a lot of fun playing trains with Kai. Here we are waiting for good old #55 to take us downtown.
day one cottage
Ann found a great cottage (on Craigslist of course) to rent in St-Aldophe d'Howard, 1 hour from Montreal. Spent a week there including a few days with Kai and family. Spent a lot of time at the beach, daily trips to Tim Horton's and watched many many movies.
parc mt. tremblant 5
After Kai et al left we headed to Parc Mt. Tremblant for a rainy day set of hikes.
